The Morphology of Film

Since a few years I’m working on a project on identifying, describing, collecting and arranging all the individual film elements: Image, editing, sound, actors, script. The final goal of this project is to destilate a formal system that shapes all (non)-narrative, abstract and experimental films.

This external link will lead you to a .xml file. Providing you with a raw version of this project. So far I have collected more over 120 discrete elements, ranging from the description of a star: ‘A famous actor’ to a shot: ‘ A continuous block of unedited footage from a single point of view’.
